Leaders with Extreme Ownership

“When leaders who epitomize Extreme Ownership driver their teams to achieve a higher standard of performance, they must recognize that when it comes to standards, as a leader, it’s not what you preach, it’s what you tolerate. When setting expectations, no matter what has been said or written, if substandard performance is accepted and no one is held accountable – If there are no consequences – that poor performance becomes the new standard. Therefore, leaders must enforce standards. Consequences for failing need not be immediately deVere, but leaders must ensure that tasks are repeated until the higher expected standard is achieved. Leaders must push the standards in a way that encourages and enables the team to utilize Extreme Ownership.”

Shop Talk by Tim Gordon

Shop Talk

I have a couple key topics to let everyone know about

The shop as it is at the Diboll address is no longer be in operation as of March 30. We have relocated to north west Lufkin at: 2102 Old Mill Rd. We will be in behind Angeline Tank in a large facility that should give the shop plenty of room to make the repairs need to keep our Fleet of tractors and trailers safe and on the road.

We have 10 new Day Cab Peterbilt that just hit the street. They have Paccar motors in them, and they have automatic transmission in them. They are also equipped with a safety device made by Bendix called “WINGMAN”. Wingman is a collision avoidance system to help prevent you from hitting someone if they pull in front of you. If you have the cruise on the will assist you in slowing your unit down a visual sign will show on the dash and an alarm will also sound. This is set up for your safety and avoiding a collision with a vehicle in front of you. These new day cabs will be great chip tractors for us.

It’s a good, stable, and friendly work environment.

Single with one kid

Thank you, Richard, for all you have done and continue to do at Fleetwood. You are so appreciated!

Dan has been part of the Fleetwood team since July of 2012. In that period of almost 7 years, Dan has received 20 clean DOT ROADSIDE INSPECTION!! In addition, he has NO BAD INSPECTIONS on his record.

Dan has been a pleasure to work with in my time at Fleetwood and proves that good pre-trip inspections, in route, and post trip inspections are successful at maintaining a per CSA score.

Don’t take a trailer on the road before a thorough pre-trip and Don’t leave a bad trailer for another driver to deal with later.

Keep up the great work!!

Director of Safety
